The Chartered Institute for Business Accountants NPC (CIBA) is hosting our Annual Practice Management Conference (PMC).

This two-day immersive experience conference is designed specifically for accountants and tax practitioners in practice.

What you will learn at the CIBA Practice Management Conference

Day 1 is SECTOR FOCUSSED and dives deep into the sectors your clients operate in to understand the latest trends and developments. CIBA has invited sector bodies representing thousands of members to provide insights into their specific member base and economic environment.

You’ll also hear from accounting firms that have successfully leveraged sector knowledge to grow their practices, implement control systems, prepare budgets, and offer assurance.

Day 2 is REGULATOR FOCUSSED and is designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools to confidently navigate the complex world of regulatory compliance. CIBA has invited critical regulatory bodies that shape the landscape for accountants and tax practitioners, providing you with practical insights and actionable strategies to support your clients effectively.

Here’s what to expect from the key sessions:

  1. Session 1: Navigating CIPC Compliance with Confidence: Get the latest updates on the Companies Act and CIPC requirements, including annual returns, financial statement submissions, and beneficial ownership reporting. Learn how South Africa’s greylisting impacts compliance and how to avoid penalties.
  2. Session 2: SME Launch Roadmap: CIBA has partnered with CIPC, SACCI and The Inhlanyelo Hub to introduce SMELaunch, aiming at accelerating SME growth. This initiative enhance the professional practice of accountants. Join us to learn about the initiative and see how you can benefit.
  3. Session 3: Roadmap to the National Lotteries Commission’s (NLC) Requirements: Master the financial reporting and audit requirements for NLC-funded organisations. Get practical advice on managing grant funding and adapting to recent regulatory changes.
  4. Session 4: SARS (Tax) Essentials: Edward Kieswetter, SARS Commissioner will lead this session. Stay up to date with planned improvements to SARS eFiling and eVAT. Learn best practices for handling tax disputes and how to obtain appointments with SARS. The Commissioner will be followed by Johan Heydenrich, Kreston Tax Director to discuss the role of the modern Tax Practitioner in today’s tax compliance landscape, delve into best practices and preparing clients for audits, and avoiding common compliance pitfalls.
  5. Session 5: Panel Discussion – Navigating Anti Money Laundering with the FSCA and FIC: Gain insights into AML regulations and enforcement in South Africa from FSCA and FIC experts. Discover best practices for AML risk assessments, reporting, and collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Pricing

Professional body conferences can cost over R1,500. With support from our partners, we’ve reduced this by 60%. CIBA is further subsidising early registrations until 15 Oct 2024:

  • Early bird price: R280.00 – 40% subsidised by CIBA until 15 Oct 2024
  • Price after 15 Oct: R465.00
