Updated Facility Codes in the Customs Clearance Declaration

8 March 2023

The facility codes used in Box 30 on the Customs Clearance Declaration (CCD) were updated with a name change of transit shed P2 in ORTIA from Lonrho Logistics (PTY) Ltd. to PCA Logistics (PTY) Ltd.

The Facilities code list is an annexure to the External Policy for the Registration, Licensing, and Designation.

You can read the External Policy here.

Why is box 30 of the CCD important?

Box 30 on the Customs Clearance Declaration (CCD) indicates the specific customs facility or location where the goods will be released or delivered. The facility codes used in Box 30 of the CCD in RSA are three-digit codes assigned to specific customs facilities or locations in South Africa.

Facility codes are used to identify the customs office responsible for the processing of the goods and ensure that the appropriate customs officers are notified of the arrival of goods and can begin the necessary inspections and clearance procedures.

The facility codes used in Box 30 of the CCD in RSA are assigned based on the specific location of the customs facility or office. For example, the facility code for OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg is 510, while the facility code for the Durban Seaport is 525.

It is important to provide the correct facility code on the CCD to ensure that the goods are delivered or released to the right location and that all necessary customs procedures are followed. Failure to provide the correct facility code may result in delays or even seizure of the goods by customs authorities.
