CIBA has been involved with the NPO sector by promoting volunteer activities since CIBA’s incorporation. In 2016 CIBA launched an initiative with the Department of Social Development to assist NPOs to become compliant.Â

This initiative was named NPO Assist.
Through this initiative 1,380 volunteers made their resources available to assist in the following areas:
- Book-keeping activities in line with section 17(1) of the NPO Act.
- Drawing-up annual financial statements as per section 17(2) of the NPO Act.
- Preparing a narrative report within 9 months of year-end as per section 18 of the NPO Act.
